I just attended the Newport Beach Restaurant Week media kick off at the Balboa Bay Resort. Cathy and I and some of my blogger babes were lucky enough to sample many delicious items from Waterline Newport Beach, Coliseum Pool and Grill at The Resort at Pelican Hill, The Lighthouse Cafe, Sushi Roku, and Fig and Olive. Every entree was just delicious and we had the best time.
Celebrating “10 Years of Good Taste” in 2016, Newport Beach Restaurant Week, produced by Dine Newport Beach and Newport Beach Restaurant Association, showcases the coastal community as a premier dining destination. The longest running restaurant week in Orange County, this annual event series takes place Monday, Jan. 18 through Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016. Guests can discover the theme of “Feed Your Inner Curiosity” at 60-plus restaurants throughout the area, with curated venue selections for the “health nut,” “carnivore,” “sweet treat freak,” “food critic,” and “inner circle.” Options abound throughout the 10 distinct dining neighborhoods and across cuisine genres with four set price points for lunch ($10, $15, $20 or $25) and dinner ($20, $30, $40 or $50). The event not only introduces new customers to the culinary community, but also enhances the economic vitality of Newport Beach; the 2015 Newport Beach Restaurant Week grossed $4.6 million in sales for the community of 85,000. Guests looking to experience Newport Beach Restaurant Week are encouraged to make reservations at participating restaurants by visiting www.dinenb.com/restaurant-week.
